The Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF) is a regulated qualification designed to develop practical workplace health and safety awareness.

The course helps learners understand the role everyone plays in maintaining a safe working environment, including health and safety responsibilities, risk assessment, common workplace hazards, control measures and what to do following accidents and incidents.

This is a private group booking, allowing your organisation to train employees together on a date that suits you.

Course Duration

1 day with a minimum of 6 guided learning hours, plus approximately 1 hour of directed preparation or study.

Delivery Options

Face-to-Face

Choose either:

  • training at your own suitable workplace

  • our Suffolk training venue

  • our North London training venue

Standard face-to-face courses are available for groups of up to 16 learners.

Live Online

The qualification can also be delivered through a live virtual classroom, with learners joining the instructor remotely. Online courses are limited to a maximum of 8 learners per trainer and assessment is completed in accordance with Qualsafe's remote assessment requirements.

What the Course Covers

Learners will develop an understanding of workplace health and safety responsibilities, risk assessment, common workplace hazards and appropriate control measures, together with the correct response to workplace accidents and incidents.

The course includes areas such as:

  • employer and employee responsibilities

  • health and safety requirements

  • hazards and risks

  • workplace risk assessment

  • controlling workplace risk

  • common workplace hazards

  • safe working practices

  • accidents, incidents and near misses

  • emergency arrangements

Assessment

Learners complete a 30-question multiple-choice assessment with up to 45 minutes to complete the paper. A minimum score of 20 out of 30 is required to pass. An invigilated e-assessment may be used for online delivery.

Certification

Successful learners receive the Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF) certificate. Qualsafe certificates can also be verified online.

Who Is This Course For?

This qualification is suitable for employees across a wide range of workplaces who need to develop or refresh their general health and safety awareness. There are no formal previous qualification requirements, although learners must be at least 14 years old.
